Who it’s for

Small changes that keep you home longer

Most falls and close calls happen in a few places: the bathroom, the front steps and dim hallways. The right grab bar, shower or ramp often makes the difference between staying home and having to move.

Older homeowners

You want to stay independent and safe in your own home as you age.

People with disabilities

Handicap-accessible changes for any age: wheelchair-friendly bathrooms, ramps, wider doors.

Adult children

You’re worried about a parent’s home and want a clear plan before something happens.

Family out of town

Your parents or grandparents live here and you don’t. We’ll be your eyes and hands, and keep you in every decision.

Veterans

We also help you navigate VA HISA and SAH grants for home modifications.

  3. 3

    Bedroom

A clear path at night, bed height, lighting and switches.

  4. 4

    Kitchen

Reach to shelves and counters, places to sit, safe appliances.

  5. 5

    Halls and doorways

Room for a walker or wheelchair, door handles, thresholds.

  6. 6

    Stairs

Handrails on both sides, lighting, and whether a stair lift makes sense.

  • Kitchen changes for easier reach

Help paying for it

You may not have to pay for it all yourself

During your assessment we’ll point you to programs that may help, depending on your situation:

  • Veterans: VA HISA, SAH and SHA grants. See our Veterans page.
  • Broward County: home repair and accessibility programs for income-qualified homeowners.
  • Seniors 60+: minor home repair help through local aging and disability services.
  • Medicaid long-term care: some plans cover home accessibility changes like ramps and grab bars.

Program rules and funding change often. We’ll help you find out what applies to you.
